Children’s Acting Workshop

Saturday, November 27th, 2010 • 9:00 – 9:50am – Kindergarten & 1st grade • 10:00 – 10:50 – 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th
grades • 11:00 – 11:50 – 6th through 12th grades COST: $100.00 (due at time of
registration). Classes limited to 16 students per class.
FULL 11 WEEK SESSION REQUIRED.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN OUR FALL 2010 CHILDREN’S ACTING WORKSHOP
Taught by professional acting teachers, Carey Eidel and Ryan Barone,
these workshops will explore the basics of acting technique and the
history of modern theater. Using theater games, body/voice exercises
and scene study, young actors will be exposed to a broad range of
acting styles and stagecraft.
ABOUT CAREY EIDEL
Carey Eidel comes to Auburn Public Theater from New York City and
Los Angeles following a 25 year professional career as an actor,
teacher, writer and director. He is a member of The Screen Actors
Guild (SAG), The American Federation of Radio and Television Artists
(AFTRA) and Actors Equity Association (AEA). Carey’s television
credits include Everybody Loves Raymond, The Amanda Show, 7th
Heaven, General Hospital, Diagnosis Murder, 3rd Rock from the Sun,
Yes, Dear, Strong Medicine, Melrose Place, L.A. Law and Fox’s Daddy
Dearest (series regular). His film credits include Lost World:
Jurassic Park, Evolution, For the Boys, The Marrying Man, And the
Band Played On and C.H.U.D. He is also an acting coach and teacher
whose NY & LA students include Academy Award winner Haley Berry, Pam
Stone (ABS’s Coach) & Diane Farr (Rescue Me). Carey currently
teaches Screenwriting, Film Production and Acting for Film at Cayuga
Community College and is the acting instructor for the FAME Program
at Seneca/Cayuga ARC. This is Carey’s 2nd year directing the Fall
2010 Children’s Acting Workshop at Auburn Public Theater.
ABOUT RYAN BARRONE
Ryan Barone attended SUNY Brockport where he worked in the theater
as an actor and as technical director. While in school, he appeared
in The Importance of Being Earnest, Miracle Worker, Like Totally
Weird, and John Brown’s Body, among many others. At Auburn Public
Theater, he appeared in the Children’s Summer Theater Workshop
production, Mercury 13, and was also on staff as an acting
instructor in the program. Currently, Ryan is working a one man show
to be performed later in the season at APT. He also currently works
as Building Supervisor, is an integral part of the staff and is a
welcome addition to the teaching staff this fall.

You too can dance! at the Auburn Public Theater. Ballroom dance
lessons begin again at the Auburn Public Theater September 16th with
instructors Nick Diego and Jeannie Tucker. The classes are from 7pm
to 8pm, and will run in four week sessions. These classes are
designed for beginners and intermediates who would like to brush up
on their dance steps. Cost is $5.00 per person. Singles are welcome.
